NIOD Fund

The NIOD Fund is the independent support foundation of the NIOD Institute for War, Holocaust and Genocide Studies. Among other things, the NIOD Fund supports young researchers in their research into mass violence, genocide, and the Second World War. It also supports special and innovative projects of NIOD that could not otherwise be carried out.

For 75 years now, NIOD has been carrying out research into the Second World War, and it is currently facing the challenge of continuing this into the future. The NIOD Fund was established in 2020 to help with this. Through the NIOD Fund, individuals, organisations, funds, and businesses can support NIOD. The NIOD Fund focuses, among other things, on the challenge of preparing young researchers so that research into war, the Holocaust and genocide will remain possible in the future. The NIOD Fund also contributes towards the full digitisation of NIOD’s archive collection. You can become an official Friend of NIOD for 50 euros a year.

The NIOD Fund has an independent board, consisting of:

  • Anne Lize van der Stoel (chair)
  • Stefan de Bruijn (treasurer)
  • Judith Sargentini
  • RobertJan Smits
  • Rocky Tuhuteru
  • Natascha van Weezel

The board does not receive any remuneration for its work. Every year, the board determines the goals of the fund and distributes the donations and contributions received between NIOD’s projects.

Contributions to the NIOD Fund can be made to bank account NL48 INGB 0000 7575 99, account holder 'Vrienden NIOD'. The RSIN number of the NIOD Fund is 816777263. The NIOD Fund is an ANBI institution. As the NIOD Fund has been designated by the tax authorities as an ANBI institution, donations can be fully or partially deducted from taxable income.
