With over 60,000 publications the NIOD library is the world's most important library collection on the Second World War in the Netherlands and the Dutch East Indies. In the last few years the library's scope has been extended to literature on more recent conflicts, genocides (Bosnia, Rwanda) and transitional justice.
Publications in Dutch form the core of the library collection, but a substantial part is in English and there also some publications in German and French.
