On April 9, 2021, the symposium 'Looking Backward, Moving Forward' was held to mark the 20th anniversary of Holocaust and Genocide Studies. One of the important aims of this symposium was to bring together the very sizeable and sophisticated body of knowledge in the study of war, genocide and Holocaust, and their respective intellectual communities, which up to now tend to remain bounded and distant from each other. The event was broadcasted at De Balie in Amsterdam. Key notes by Carol Gluck, Amos Goldberg, Stathis Kalyvas, Siniša Malešević and Dirk Moses, and contributions by Nanci Adler, Jolle Demmers, Eva Kovacs, Omar McDoom, Kristin Platt, Ismee Tames and Uğur Ümit Üngör. The symposium can be watched back at the bottom of this page.
