Major maintenance of the reading room in the summer

Major maintenance works are planned for the reading room this summer. This means that the reading room will not be available for research in July and August.
The renovations will include the replacement of the ceiling and floor coverings. Sustainable lighting will also be installed and the help desk will be revamped. As increasing numbers of books have been added to the library in the past year, we are also working on extra shelf space.
During the works, it will still be possible to consult the archives elsewhere in the building, and we will also make it possible to borrow books from the library during the period; customised arrangements will apply to both. In the coming period, we will use the website and social media to keep everyone informed about the maintenance and its consequences for visitors to NIOD.
