Tuesday's edition of De Volkskrant reports that for the first time in history photos have been discovered of executions in the former Dutch Indies.

The photos have probably been taken during the so-called 'politionele acties', shortly after the Second World War. They are from the family album of a soldier who served as a conscript in the Dutch Indies. NIOD image researcher René Kok commented on the discovery of these unique photographs in various media.
