On December 16, 2015, The Dutch government has requested the NIOD Institute for War, Holocaust, and Genocide Studies to carry out an exploration of the sources and scholarly literature that have become available since the 2002 publication of the NIOD report that described and analyzed the events leading up to, and taking place during and after the fall of Srebrenica in 1995. In the meantime, the research assignment to the NIOD has been developed and sent to the President of the the House of Representatives. The letter and its research assignment can be found here. (only in Dutch)

This assignment to the NIOD has risen from the request of the House of Representatives following the publicity about the fall of the Srebrenica enclave last Summer.
