In the library of the NIOD it is possible to view the collection of video interviews from the Fortunoff Video Archive for Holocaust Testimonies. The Fortunoff Video Archive, which is part of Yale University, started interviewing Holocaust survivors and witnesses in the late 1970s and has grown into a collection that now consists of 4400 video interviews. The videos, which cover a total of more than 12,000 hours, give a intrusive picture of the Holocaust.
The Fortunoff Video Archive collaborates with various institutions in the world, the so-called Access Sites. In the Netherlands, the NIOD and Camp Westerbork Memorial Center are the places where access is offered to this collection.
