NIOD Institute for War, Holocaust and Genocide Studies is a knowledge and information centre about war, the Holocaust and genocide. The institute is part of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW).

Research
The Department of Research is responsible for conducting academic research. In addition, the department ensures that research results are disseminated nationally and internationally through lectures, conferences, workshops and publications.

Collections & Services
The Department of Collections & Services is responsible for the management and accessibility of the archives, collections and library. In addition, this department is responsible for NIOD’s online services and the services provided in the reading room.

Holocaust and Genocide studies
The Department of Holocaust and Genocide studies focuses on academic education and research on the Holocaust and other genocides. In connection with this, the department also runs a master course on Holocaust and Genocide studies at the University of Amsterdam.

Operational Management
The Department of Operational Management is responsible for finances, human resources management, facility management, ICT, building management and secretarial support.

Communication
The Department of Communication advises Management and staff on the communication strategy of several activities. The department also maintains media relations and is responsible for initiating and organising public activities.
