Question:
Who can contact NIOD for information?

Everyone who wants information about the Second World War, genocides, or large-scale (war) violence can contact NIOD. Of course, this does not mean that we have an answer for every question. For certain subjects, people may be referred to other, specialised institutions.
On the basis of the library catalogue, the archives overview and the accompanying finding aids, and other ways to access the collection, you can assess quite accurately whether NIOD has the information you need. If you want to know more definitely whether your questions might be answered by NIOD, you can call or email the institute. (Please also check our Service standards). Wie met meer zekerheid wil weten of het NIOD het juiste adres is voor zijn/haar vraag kan daarover bellen of mailen met het instituut. (zie verder onder: Servicenormen).
