The queer community in the Netherlands, 1940-1945
The queer community in the Netherlands was subject to intimidation and oppression during the Second World War, but that in itself was not a new development. For much of the twentieth century, members of marginalised groups such as these fell victim to a certain degree of repression. This search guide contains general information about the queer community – in particular the gay community – in the Netherlands during the Second World War, as well as an overview of potentially relevant archives and publications held in both NIOD’s collection and those of other institutions.
