Bram works among other things on describing archival records and on improving already existing archival descriptions within the collection of the NIOD. Currently he works on a project that seeks to implement and digitize the card catalogue of the German criminal justice system between 1940 and 1945 in the Netherlands.
Bram Schamhart studied History and Sociology at the University of Amsterdam. He specializes in the spatial segregation of the social classes during the Early Modern Period, in particular that of the upper class in Amsterdam. The gathering and implementation of genealogical information into a database proved to be essential for answering the research questions in his theses, skills that turn out to be very beneficial for his current project.
