Daphne Nieuwenhuijse, MA
Biography
Daphne Nieuwenhuijse is interim Programme Manager of the Expert Centre Restitution (ECR) at the NIOD Institute for War, Holocaust and Genocide Studies. She is temporarily leading the research team that focuses on individual restitution requests and research projects on the themes of looted art and restitution.
Previously at NIOD, she focused on cataloguing and making accessible the archives relating to Anne Frank's manuscripts and researched their material history.
In previous roles, she worked as an advisor at the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands and as an art and antiques appraiser.
Daphne studied Arts and Culture Studies and Museum Studies at the University of Amsterdam.
