drs. Ellen Grabowsky
Ellen Grabowsky (1964) is coordinator-researcher at the Expert Centre Restitution. She also works as a project leader at the Pilot Project Provenance Research on Objects from the Colonial Era (PPROCE).
Ellen Grabowsky graduated in 1991 in Historical Dutch Literature (UvA). She was a researcher at the University of Amsterdam until 1998 and lectured in the field of biographical research, archivistics, book science and palaeography. She then worked on several research projects on first-person documents (including for the Research Institute for First-Person Documents and History). From 2006, she worked at the Amsterdam City Archive, where her responsibilities included the acquisition of private archives and collections and research into the origins of the City Archive’s collections within the framework of Museum Acquisition Research (1933-present). At the City Archive, she carried out various studies into the history of the resistance movement in Amsterdam. From 2014, she also worked at the Six Collection as a project leader for the digitisation of the Six family archives.
