Erik Schumacher, MA

Researcher

Erik Schumacher works as a researcher on the project ‘Two-fold research on the restoration of the rule of law after World War II’. He is co-author of the book on the civil service purge to be published within this project.

Previously, Erik was commissioned by the NIOD to write two volumes in the series Leven in bezet Nederland (Life in occupied Netherlands) and the public book Sporen van Sobibor (Traces of Sobibor) about the archaeological research into remains of the extermination camp.

As an independent historian, Erik works for various clients and initiates projects of his own, such as the Jewish double biography Mau and Gerty, published in 2016.
