Ina-Maria Duynhouwer, MA
Biography
Ina-Maria Duynhouwer is a PhD Candidate at the NIOD Institute for War-, Holocaust- and Genocide Studies and the University of Amsterdam. Her project focuses on the persecution of the Jewish community of Enschede (Overijssel) during the Second World War, with specific attention for the process of disappropriation and postwar compensation.
Ina-Maria completed the bachelor Geschiedenis at Leiden University, the research master’s History at Leiden University and the master’s Holocaust and Genocide Studies at the University of Amsterdam. During her studies she worked as a research fellow at Zeeuws Archief and the Brabants Historisch Informatie Centrum (BHIC). She specializes in twentieth century history, with a focus on war, violence, trauma and the history of emotions and memory.
