
Ivo van Donselaar is a doctoral student at the Universität Münster and Radboud University Nijmegen and a visiting researcher at the NIOD Institute for War, Holocaust, and Genocide Studies.
Ivo studied history at Leiden University and took the master's degree in Germany Studies at the University of Amsterdam. Since 2023, he has been working on his dissertation, which is funded by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung. The working title is: Pangermanism in the Netherlands. The long-term development of pan-Germanic thought and Germanic identity formation in the Netherlands between 1880 and 1945. In it, he examines how the Dutch dealt with their own Germanic ancestry and how this influenced the political and cultural Dutch-German relationship.
