Lucy Gaynor is promovendus bij de afdeling Geschiedenis van de Universiteit van Amsterdam, onderdeel van de Amsterdam School for Heritage, Memory, and Material Culture. Haar promotieonderzoek wordt begeleid door Prof. dr. Nanci Adler en Dr. Thijs Bouwknegt.
Her current research focuses on discussion of history in international criminal trials, through the testimony of expert witnesses. With a focus on understanding how atrocity crimes trials examine, narrate, and produce history, she is researching trials at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR), the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC), and the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Lucy holds a BA in History from Trinity College Dublin, and an MA in Holocaust and Genocide studies from the University of Amsterdam-NIOD.
