The Reading Room is open from Tuesday-Friday 9.00-17.30. The Reading Room is closed on Mondays. For more information, see Reading Room and Library.
In 2023, NIOD will be closed on the following dates:

Temporary closure of reading room
Major maintenance to the reading room will take place this summer. As a result, the reading room will be closed until 11 September 2023. NIOD's paper archive and library collection cannot be consulted during this period.
During the renovation, the ceiling cloths and floor covering, among other things, will be replaced. More durable lighting will also be installed and the reception desk will be refurbished. After this period, we look forward to welcoming you to our renovated reading room.

NIOD is easy to reach by public transport. From Central Station: Take tram 4, 14 or 24, exit at Rokin (for up-to-date information, see the GVB website). Walk towards Singel and via Wijde Heisteeg to Herengracht (approx. 350 metres walking distance). From Central Station, you can also take metro 52, exit at Rokin (for up-to-date information, see the GVB website). Walk along Spui towards Singel and via Wijde Heisteeg to Herengracht (approx. 550 metres walking distance).
Parking facilities in the immediate vicinity of the institute are limited and costly. Car parks within a reasonable distance:

The building is easily accessible for wheelchair users and persons with disabilities. There is a lift in the building.
