Professors
A number of NIOD researchers hold professorial chairs or special chairs on behalf of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW). In this role, they act as a link between NIOD and the majority of Dutch universities: they engage in scientific research and teaching, and supervise doctoral students. These professorial chairs ensure that NIOD is firmly embedded in the academic world and society, and that the institute contributes directly to the training of young talent.
